But how can we get the smoky flavor that easily? There's one key ingredient that makes the magic! And this is what you'll need:
- Cut potatoes into approx. 5mm thick slices, just as you do when making Moussaka. Put them into a lightly greased baking pan and sprinkle with some salt and pepper to taste. There's no need to arrange them - just scatter them. Bake into a preheated at 200°C oven until soft and tender.
As you can imagine, roasted salami will give the dish that smoky flavor and aroma, and cooking cream will give it an interesting texture.
Serve warm with somebread and fresh salad or pickled vegetables.
As I said, you can also serve it as a side dish, though for me this is nothing less than a hearty main meal. :)
